Frankie and I discovered a new place around the corner to have some adventures. Overlooking the beautiful Navesink River (where Steve and I used to live) is Huber Woods, a state park with SO much for little toddlers (and grown ups) to do when they’re tired of their back yards!
Once a week we’ve been venturing through the woods. I follow him run after him as he chants loudly “We’re following the leader…the leader…the leader!” (This boy LOVES Peter Pan)
We make frequent stops during our hikes…every tree, every plant, every leaf, every stick MUST be observed carefully!
It’s so cool.
Inside the old historical home has been converted to a place to explore. There’s a nature room (which I’m keeping in the back mind…future bedroom project perhaps?) where we played puzzles, puppets, dress up, and spied on the animals outside with binoculars. Once again super cool.
Every day I love this boy more and more. Being a mom is by far the best gift I’ve ever been given.
